John Grieve, BVM&S MRCVS

John first came to Cambridge in October 1971. In the early days the practice was predominantly "large animal" (cattle, sheep, pigs and some horses), but farm animal numbers in the Cambridge area have decreased dramatically, so that the 1980s saw a huge swing from large animal to "small animal" work. An Edinburgh University graduate, John was born in Oxford, but grew up in Scotland. He came to practise in Cambridge in 1971. In 1985 John spent several months at the University of Florida, concentrating on dermatology and internal medicine. In the later 1980s, frustrated by frequent difficulty of getting clinical information, he started 'Vetstream', the internationally acclaimed electronic publishing service, which now has subscribers in over 60 countries. John's non-veterinary interests include music, photography, reading and Rotary. Married to Jan, he has a daughter Fiona, son Simon and two stepsons, Simon and Will.
